The Johnston Historical Society

The Johnston Historical Society was founded in 1994 to bring people together who are interested in the history of the Johnston, Iowa area. The society is dedicated to preserving and presenting local documents and memorabilia from before the first settlers in 1846 to the present day. We maintain the 1902 Simpson House Museum and a Simpson Barn, which are open to the public during events and by appointment to share the community's rich past.
